Christian Araos is an internationalist organizer from Long Island, NY. He helped launch the International Migrants Rights Working Group and has represented DSA in diplomatic duties. He’s a Chilean-American and still loves playing lacrosse and soccer.

Jeremy C.
NPC MEMBER
Jeremy Cohan is a queer teachers’ kid, radicalized by the Iraq War and 2008 economic crisis. He’s a sociologist who studies teachers unions, political economy, philosophy, and Marxist theory. He helped organize a tenant association in his building that went on a two-year victorious rent strike.
He joined DSA on Thanksgiving weekend 2016, inspired by Bernie and terrified of Trump. He was NYC-DSA co-chair for over two years. He has also held leadership roles in the chapter’s work on Palestine solidarity; electoral campaigns; Socialists in Office committees; admin committees (e.g. fundraising, compliance); Political Education (DSA Academy, North Brookly NIght School); and student organizing (NYU-YDSA co-founder).
He is currently serving on DSA’s National Political Committee (NPC).

Katie S.
NPC MEMBER
Katie (they/them) has served as Ithaca DSA’s electoral committee chair, and on the Steering Committee of DSA’s National Electoral Committee. They have coordinated field programs to get three socialists elected to local office, and are particularly interested in building socialist electoral projects in small cities. Katie ran as an independent candidate for mayor of Ithaca in 2022.
They currently serve as a member of DSA’s National Political Committee (NPC).

Colleen J.
CAUCUS CO-CHAIR
Colleen (she/they) grew up working class in the upper Midwest, joined DSA in early 2017, and has been a Denver DSA member since that fall. They were elected to DSA's National Political Committee for the 2023-2025 term. They served for 5 years on the national Growth and Development Committee where they organized the 2022 Recommitment Drive and the 2023-2024 Solidarity Dues Drive, which raised about $600,000 for the organization. Beyond DSA, they were elected chief steward and bargaining committee member for their CWA-Newsguild union, and they came up in movement work by way of Quaker, working-class student organizing, and community action organizations.

Kristian (she/her) is a socialist organizer born & raised in Dallas, TX, to Mexican immigrants. For work, she is a production administrator at a construction company. She joined DSA in 2016. After two terms as co-chair of DSA North Texas, she was elected to the National Political Committee in 2019 and re-elected in 2021. On the NPC, she served both terms on the steering committee and the most recent term as Chair. Currently, she is a co-chair of the Growth and Development Committee and on the International Commmittee's Americas subcommittee. Her organizing work outside of DSA has mostly been focused on the police budget and DACA.

Amanda Baumunk (she/her) is a member of Central NJ DSA, born and raised in New Jersey. She currently serves as co-chair of her chapter and is working to revitalize its electoral working group. In 2025, she was one of the youngest candidates to ever run for public office in her state, and continues to be involved in progressive local politics in NJ.

CAUCUS TREASURER
Emmett (he/him) lives in St. Louis, MO and has organized with St. Louis DSA since 2019. He has worked on multiple campaigns, including fighting privatization and canvassing for Cori Bush, and previously served on the chapter’s Executive Committee for multiple terms. Currently, he is the co-chair of the chapter’s Political Education committee. Outside of DSA, he is a relentless student of history, friend of dogs, and die hard Green Bay Packers fan.

Heather (she/her) is an organizer in New York City. She joined DSA in early 2022 and became a member of SMC shortly thereafter. She serves on the Queens Branch Organizing Committee and as part of the citywide Membership Committee. She works as a freelance writer.

Sam (he/him) is a member of NYC-DSA and a union organizer. He previously served as co-chair of the NYC-DSA Brooklyn Electoral Working Group, member of the NYC-DSA Citywide Leadership Committee, and member of DSA's National Electoral Committee. Currently, he is active in NYC-DSA's campaign for a New Deal for CUNY. He is a lifelong resident of Brooklyn, New York.

William is a member of DSA-LA. He joined DSA in high school and, since then, schlepped around the US participating in various left projects on either coast. He currently serves as co-chair of CA DSA and is Comms Chair for the DSA-LA for Estuardo WG. Most of his time is spent thinking about spreadsheets and elections, often at the same time.

Vincent Lima (he/him) is a member of the Rochester, N.Y. chapter. He served for three terms on the chapter’s Steering Committee. He cofounded the chapter’s Labor Working Group and has been leading efforts to establish a local Emergency Workplace Organizing Committee.
For many years, Vincent engaged in socialist and anti-imperialist organizing in Armenian communities. He was a member of the Graduate Employees Union at the University of Michigan and later part of an effort to organize his workplace in Princeton, New Jersey.

Brynn L. (she/her) is co-chair of Denver DSA. Since joining DSA in summer 2018 as a high school student she has volunteered for DSA-endorsed campaigns, passed legislation expanding civil rights protections for trans people, and served on DSA’s national Trans Rights and Bodily Autonomy Campaign Steering Committee (2023-25).

David (he/him) is a member of New York City DSA. He joined DSA in 2018 and was briefly a member of the Gizmodo Media Group Union, which introduced him to organizing. He sat on the NYC-DSA Tech Action Working Group Organizing Committee from 2020 to 2021 and currently sits on the Central Brooklyn Organizing Committee and is a representative to the Central Leadership Committee.

Genevieve R. is focused on winning. As a New York based tenant organizer and political campaigner, she helps tenants take control of their homes and governments. She cofounded the Ithaca Tenants Union and ran socialists to elect the city’s first ever majority-tenant Council, and she has organized workplace unions, worked as a strike organizer for the Tenant Union Federation, and was a leader in New York’s successful Good Cause tenant protections campaign. She served as the first cochair of DSA’s national Trans Rights and Bodily Autonomy campaign commission (‘23-‘25), and currently works as the Organizing Director at the NYS Tenant Bloc and Housing Justice for All.

Leslie Chang (she/her) is a member of DSA-LA. She was part of the organizing committee that formed the Eastside + SGV Branch and has served as Branch Coordinator for two years, as well as the local Steering Committee for three. She is also a California DSA delegate, member of DSA’s National Electoral Committe, and served on the national For Our Rights Committee (FORC) and Democracy Commission. She currently serves on DSA-LA’s Steering Committee. Outside of DSA, Leslie works on federal tax and trade policies for onshoring solar energy manufacturing.

Patrick T. Shepherd is a union representative, negotiator, and organizer, and has been an organized socialist for over 15 years. He joined DSA in 2015 and has helped build the organization for nearly a decade. Patrick helped to establish the NYC chapter’s electoral working group and labor working group. He served in leadership for NYC’s Labor Working Group, Anti-War Working Group, and on the chapter’s Steering Committee. He also helped found the Red Rabbits marshalling program and the International COmmittee’s Cuba solidarity work. Patrick also worked on staff for DSA as the organization’s Field Organizer in the Southeast.
